GPS Mounting on My Harley Ultra Classic (8/1/2011)
Since we are planning to ride in late January 2011, the temperature might be quite cold for most of us who are more accustomed to the warmer weather. Among the gears that could be considered are listed below. Please comment & suggest to add:
Will this do? Have one that my kids use which can fit 3 people comfortably. Protection from the wind and sand, but still need the sleeping bag for the cold.
I bought a mounting for my Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS that I've owned for about 5 years. I ordered a RAM mount from Amazon. It is very sturdy with metal construction and the design clever enough to hold the GPS firmly. See the video below withstanding the classic violent Harley idle handle shake.
Since the Nuvi 360 was made to be used in the car and maybe too old, the display was not very visible in the desert sunlight. I made a visor from a plastic cover of a book. It helps to reduce the glare.

Good news. XR1200 has officially added/acquired a Road King. Looks like the XR1200 won't make it to Oman afterall.. LOL.
